When Windows 10 came out, Windows 7 and 8 computers had a small 'Get Windows 10 app' installed by Windows Update, it allowed you to easily upgrade to Windows 10. It also ran tests on your computer to see if it is compatible. Microsoft really wants users to upgrade and is increasing it's methods of getting you to upgrade. They've increased pop-up notifications and added the free upgrade into optional updates in WInodws update. It may move into Reccommended soon this year, which means that it'll install automatically if you have Reccommended updates set to install automatically, however, Microsoft stated that "Before the upgrade changes the OS of your device, you will be clearly prompted to choose to continue."
